centre of the universe: the dreaming

03/17/2003: "I can't believe it." I missed a day in there. Or two. I feel likea huge lazyass. The truth is, yesterday I was playing D&D over at Randy's house. BTW, have I mentioned he's the best GM in the universe? Check out the really old, out-of-date Greyhawk pages that were inspired by his D&D game (the first I ever played in, I might add): http://www.cenobyte.ca/greyhawk

I mean they're REALLY out of date.

My character Aliandra (whom I've been playing more or less for three years) died last night. Though it was cathartic, it could have been pathotic (no, I *didn't* mean pathetic) if she'd have actually died at the hand of the Durugar (who killed her first lover), but no. She was far too hot-tempered, stubborn, and a little psychotic, and she got invoved with an ...what the hell was it called, Randy? An Athlak? I don't remember. Some giant thing with three arms and five attacks, anyway. Hit me for 43 points of damage on the first go. I only had 46 at that time, and that only because the cleric NPC healed me from the negatives just before.

There's something in there about having cut off the Durugar's beard, hitting one of my own party members in the schnozz, and then trying to Fascinate the Beast after deciding it was Way Too Big for Me to Handle. Uh, that and my real motivation was to kill all the rest of the invisible dwarves, whom one can never be too sure are actually there or not.

We're in Saskatoon; it's beautiful outside (almost +10), and I think today's the day for snowmen. There's still quite a lot of snow in the backyard, and the WDM isn't open today. What kind of a museum/tourist attraction doesn't open on Mondays?

grrr

and then, THEN, some yutz tried sending me a 5MB email. WTF? Seriously. Who sends emails of more than 1Mb? Worse yet, he sent it to the ENTIRE mailing list. freak.

I'm going to go now.
T has a cold.

Ryan , on Monday, 17th March:

What a yutz. I got two copies of a 100MB email the other day. The server is supposed to deny anything larger than 10MB, but there are a couple of intentionally clever ways around that.

Fortunately I just happen to have an enchanted war axe that does wonders for large messages.

Ooblik , on Monday, 17th March:

speaking of email, I went on a packet-filtering rampage last night. If you are a Korean or Chinese ISP, its very likely that your entire netblock is packet filtered. bleh, spammers can bite me.
