centre of the universe: the dreaming

02/19/2007: "yup. This is Family Day." In Saskatchewan, because we rock, we get a *paid holiday* today. Well, if you're not working retail or service industry jorbs, you'll get a paid holiday today. It's fambly day. Huzzah. We did not turn on the television today except to do yoga together (you haven't lived until you've done Yoga with a seven year old and a two year old; especially when they're trying to do your exercise ball workout, on their bouncy-ball-with-handles. I got as much of a workout from laughing at them as I did from the actual workout).

Also, and this shouldn't come as a big surprise, the comments still aren't working, and neither are the feeds. I think I have the porblem with the feeds narrowed down to the scripts that generate the feeds in the bournalling software I use running on a slightly older version of Perl, and the newer version has enough difference in it that the server (which uses the new version) and the bournalling software (which uses the slightly older version) just aren't getting along well.

I've set up a couple of other blog sources to publish to my home domain, and because I am interested in this whole syndication thing, it would be really nice if the feeds worked. The guy what did the most recent update to the bournalling software says his next release (in early March or April) will have built-in syndication options. I'm not sure yet if I'll stick with this software or move over to a different bournalling system completely. I know the archived entries won't show up in the new software, so I'll have to maintain an archive just of them, separate from the new software.

Also, I'd like to produce podcasts of my radio show, when I can, so having a reliable XML reader/parser/generator/driver/passenger/doctor will probably be important for that.

Super Suz , on Tuesday, 20th February:

I did spend the day with my family. In fact, the TV was only blaring on Friday night when we got to the cabin at Little Bear Lake because my dad was there by himself and then in Nipawin while we were packing up to head to back to the city. In the meantime, there were boardgames, kaiser, ice fishing, snowmobiling, walks at 2 in the morning, sitting by the fire, listening to music, and lots of hugs and conversation. Mom, dad, Cheruby and I had a wonderful weekend.
