05/29/2008: "The Forgettance." I had something planned for you today. I thought of it in the shower.

Consequently, I did not write it down.

So, instead, I bring you: Awesome Folks in the Service Industry.

cenobyte phones the courier, because cenobyte needs some documents signed by her Saskatoon contingent. The courier doesn't answer the phone for several rings, and when he does, he tells her that she shouldn't even be calling, because there's no way he could 'get it there' before tomorrow afternoon at 3. cenobyte needs it there by tomorrow afternoon at 1:30. cenobyte calls the provincial bus express service.

The provincial bus express service tells cenobyte that there are three buses leaving for Saskatoon in the next 24 hours. Four, actually. He tells her when they leave, when they arrive, and what time the express delivery will be made. cenobyte, in a Quiet Voice, asks whether it would be possible, in his opinion, for the delivery to be made today at all. He says it's probably too late for the next bus. cenobyte sighs, and says, "well, let's do it this way; if you can pick up the package now, that would be wonderful. If it makes it on the next bus, that's great, but if it doesn't, it'll be there for 8am tomorrow, so that's all that *really* matters."

The Bus Guy says: "We'll send Colin over right now, and he'll pick up your parcel and have it on the one o'clock bus."

Which was precisely what they said they couldn't do in the first place. But they did it. Just for me.

Now, do you know who's getting all my business? Do you? It's not the snarky courier.

Plus, when the Bus Pickup Guy comes over, he always makes my day. I mean, this guy must *really* love his jaerb. Really. He's always smiling and joking with us, and he brightens my day every time he comes in here.
